First, I'd like to thank everyone who purchased the Nisei Mini Battery Kit! I hope to release the Upper & Lower Pipe Kit in the up coming weeks.
Now 10 steps & things to watch for while installing your Nisei Mini Battery Kit:
"Tray ONLY Kit" - Should consist of the (1) battery base, (1) mounting bracket, (1) battery brace bracket, (2) posts, (2) 8mm x 30mm button head cap screws, (2) 6mm x 20mm studs, (2) 6mm x 15mm button head cap screws, (3) 10/32” cap screws, and (2) flat washers. All hardware included is 304 stainless steel.
"Battery Kit" – Comes with (2) 6mm x 20mm studs (also stainless), (1) positive terminal, (1) negative terminal (both brass)
If you have a “Complete Nisei Mini Battery Kit”, you should have everything listed above! If not, please contact us right away (310)408-2767.
NOTE : There are 2 BAGS with HARDWARE packed inside of each box!
Now that everything is accounted for you can begin the installation of the Nisei battery kit!
Step One – Start by disconnecting the negative / positive terminals, remove the OEM battery brace bracket, and battery.
Step Two – Remove the factory battery tray. There are 5 bolts holding in this unit. Bolt locations marked in photo below.
Step Three – Once OEM battery & tray assembly have been removed. Begin the assembly of the Nisei tray, STARTING with the mounting bracket to the base. Start with the CENTER hole and turn bolt GENTLY until it catches then proceed to tighten approximately 1-2 full revolutions. Repeat for other 2 holes. Once ALL 3 bolts have been started, tighten to the point of “SNUG”, then maybe an additional “1/4 to 1/2 turn” (REMEMBER tray is Aluminum and hardware is Stainless, so Aluminum WILL STRIP before the Stainless). Refer to photo below.
NOTE: when installing mounting bracket to the base, try keeping the mounting bracket FLUSH to the bottom of the base. Lastly, using “Lock Tight” is a good idea for the “Mounting Bracket Bolts” to prevent bolts from backing out (vibration).
Step Four – Insert 6mm stainless studs into posts and “HAND TIGHTEN” until stud “bottoms out”. NOTE: Posts are threaded deeper on one side than the other. Make sure “Studs” are on installed on the “SHALLOW” side for best results!
Step Five – Install posts into base, again “HAND TIGHTEN”. It should look like photos below once posts have been installed.
Step Six – Set tray into chassis using the 8mm x 30mm bolts and flat washers. Tighten bolts down ,BUT leave a GAP so final adjustments to alignment can be made. See photos below.
Step Seven – Insert 6mm studs into battery. Tighten until studs “BOTTOM OUT”. Refer to photo below.
Step Eight – Using a wrench CAREFULLY SNUG terminals. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!!! Terminals are made of Brass and stud is Stainless which means terminals can be stripped very easily. Since the battery has “raised brass fittings” where terminal sits, a SLIGHT GAP WILL REMAIN! See photo below! NOTE: Positive terminal is LARGER than negative terminal.
Step Nine – install battery and top brace bracket using the 2 pcs 6mm button head cap screws.
Step Ten – Reinstall the positive and negative terminals.
Installation is complete!
Installation Time - typically 15 - 20 minuntes.
Again thanks for purchasing the Nisei Mini Battery Kit & enjoy!
