Here is our subject car: Previously equipped with Greddy Upper Pipe, Stock FMIC & OEM battery.
Since our direct path routing of our pipes eliminates numerous bends and shortens the piping length significantly. It will increase your throttle response and eliminate the expansion (balloon effect) of the stock hoses. Therefore stabilizing your boost pressure. Unfortunately, not all good things come without compromise. In order to achieve this we had to either utilize the Nisei Engineering Mini battery kit OR relocate to the trunk.
This time around our guy wanted to keep the OEM battery to retain high RC (reserve capacity). Mostly, because he uses many electronic extra's such as in car cam, computer, GPS, stereo etc. So we ended up using the Nisei Engineering Relocation Tray for the OEM battery.
Here you can see how the tight fit of the Greddy Upper next to the OEM battery.
We selected to relocate the battery to the passenger side rear quarter to offset the weight to the opposing corner.
As you can see once the battery had been relocated to the trunk it opens up a lot of room in the engine bay.
Earlier I mentioned the Nisei Pipe kit eliminates numerous bends and shortens the piping significantly. Here is a prime example below. The Greddy Upper pipe which attaches to the stock piping has 5 bends showing in this photo alone.
Now, in the photo below we have our entire pipe kit with ONLY 6 bends.
Here is just a photo showing stock pipes & FMIC before we replaced it.
We started by replacing the lower.
Here is what the stock lower looks compared to our Raw & Nisei Black lower.
Once the installation of the pipe kit was completed it looked like:
