Data logging equipment pictured below.
In this photo you can clearly see how much more surface area the Nisei core provides.
Below you can see how the AMS installed on the Left. The Nisei Engineering on the Right.
By running a smaller core with large end tanks, you are not taking advantage of the large opening of the EVO8. Keep in mind maximizing the surface area can only increase your cooling efficiency.
On the graph below, we have several pulls conducted with the AMS: 1st-3rd, 4th (by itself, not quite back to back), and 2nd- 4th.
Pull # 1 - temps climb in 2nd gear to +9.9F above ambient. 3rd gear +23.5F.
Pull # 2 - 4th gear only temps are +54F above ambient.
Pull # 3 - 2nd thru 4th back to back. The temp climb almost at the same rate as the other 2 pulls.
Next we have several pulls conducted on the Nisei Engineering FMIC :
As you can see the graph above clearly shows the Nisei Engineering FMIC stabilizes outlet temps (1st-3rd) much better, and a has maximum increase of ONLY +13.3F above ambient in 4th gear.
Data for graphs can be viewed :

The purpose of the graphs and data logging is to show you things you could not record on a chassis dyno. Mainly, because you are limited to a one gear pull. These test can provide you with a better understanding of what really goes on at actual speed & temps.
You can also see, as load & inlet temperatures increase, how it effects the FMIC's ability to resist heat soak.
As I stated on the other thread, this is only one test of many planned. Unfortunately, we are in our winter season, which means the FMIC's do not have to work as hard to exchange heat! I'm sure when the weather gets hotter the numbers will change a lot.
Until seasons change, we're on stand by!
More to come, stay tuned! |
